I'm so sorry you're having to make this move, this symbol of additional disability. On the plus side, I'm so glad your wake up call involved only property and no injuries, and I hope you find that hand controls extend your independence.

Oh my..glad you are OK and that no one else was harmed.

I've ridden with my friend who has hand controls on her steering wheel...she said it's like anything else, weird at first until you become used to it.

You're correct, this disease is expensive!

My website shows that there is another paradigm: it is actually the easier path to follow, although it appears hard, as it involves changing habits. Not only is the drug approach not very pleasant, it is not supported by the medical literature. The research shows that lifestyle change in MS, like most chronic Western disease, offers the greatest hope for recovery.

On down days I do one of two things...go with the flow, acknowledge the negative and to use a new-agey phrase..."embrace the darkness"...wallow in it, with all of it's juicy bits. The next day is almost always brighter as I've let it run it's current course.

Or, option #2, get out of my head...quit thinking of me and my MS and focus on someone or something other than ME. This works pretty well most of the time and actually ends up accomplishing something...

Booze is OK as one-glass medicinal amounts. More than that makes my MS symptoms worse, not better....

I agree, family and friends are the loving anchor that keeps me stable and afloat, too.

I rarely smoke it as it just makes me feel paranoid and wasted...but 3 of my friends who have MS and medical marijuana cards are anxious to do a "study" if you will of the 2 different strains of pot on me!

Indica= best in the evening, gives your body a stoned, relaxed feeling.."body buzz". Good for all over pain relief and insomnia.

Sativa= best for day, makes you feel "up, high, optimistic" and good for pain relief for certain symptoms.

Hi Stephen,
It's been a while since my last visit. I am sensing that you are feeling a little low and that saddens me. It is obvious to me, that I don't suffer the same degree of symptom as yourself, and for that I am lucky and blessed. Family and friends are so important to anyone's well being whether hale in body or not. Our spirits need their support on a regular basis. I am happy that you are working and showing the way to any who might end up in your shoes one day. Keep yourself strong and steady for them as well as yourself.
Hang loose and be well,
Mouse

I'm a patient. If they legalize it there too, try the candy and tinctures. They just treats the symptoms and do not get you high. I use it to help me with taking the Copaxone. It also helps with nausea, appetite, vertigo and spasticity. I swear by it!

What an informative article. Last summer my 2 year old son fell in the pool while I was doing dishes. Thank God my pool alarm went off! I ran outside to find my son struggling to keep afloat. Fortunately because of the pool alarm I was able to get to him fast enough to pull him out before CPR was even needed. I highly recommend this alarm. It was such a small investment for such a big reward, PEACE OF MIND.
Protect your children and check out this website with this unique pool alarm.
