shop local!

i stole this from a post on facebook – if i knew who made the original, i’d give them credit – i did not create this. but, that said, i would urge you all to search out and patronize local crafters this holiday gift giving season. at the very least, shop local independent merchants – book stores, music stores, art galleries, give gift certificates to local restaurants – be creative and make the effort to support your local economy. better yet – make gifts: give the gift of time, make some holiday treats in your kitchen, etc. if there is nothing available in your neck of the woods, take a look at etsy, a great online source for handmade gifts of ALL sorts. make this holiday about more than just spending money – make your spending count.

thanks, i’ll get off my high horse now.

(i add this just to see if i get more hits via search engines:)

Multiple sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another.

  1. Stephen,
I think your high horse is in a good space. The smaller local stores usually offer a more unique line of goods that have a custom fit to their own neighbourhoods. Big box stores are rather unfriendly, uncomfortable and have really weird lighting systems. I support my neighbours every chance I get.
